Among the awardees, CLMMRH was the only Level 3 Hospital in the Visayas Region that was included in the list. The other recipients in the same category include six (6) hospitals from Luzon namely, St. Luke's Medical Center (Quezon City), Tondo Medical Center (City of Manila), Makati Medical Center (Makati City), Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital (San Fernando City, Pampanga), Region 1 Medical Center (Dagupan City, Pangasinan), and Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (City of San Fernando, La Union). While those from Mindanao were Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (Cotabato City), Southern Philippines Medical Center (Davao City), and Davao Regional Medical Center (Tagum City, Davao del Norte).
This event was initiated by the Department of Health to recognize the commitment of the different hospitals in upholding quality healthcare for the Filipino people. The plaque of recognition was received by Mr. Rey Emanuelle Mirasol, Regulatory Compliance Officer of CLMMRH, who represented the institution during the said summit. This adds another feather on the cap of CLMMRH, as it was also recognized last year by the Philippine Hospitals Association as the Most Outstanding Level 3 Government Hospital of 2018.
Through a hospital memorandum, Dr. Julius M. Drilon, the Medical Center Chief, expressed his appreciation to the employees of CLMMRH. To quote,”This award is in recognition of our collective effort in continuously improving the quality of health care services to our citizens, even exceeding the minimum requirements of the DOH rules and regulations." He also shared how DOH HFSRB appreciates the best practices and initiatives of the hospital in shifting into evidence-based approach in pursuit of excellence in healthcare service.
