In relation to the Capstone project of CLMMRH and DAP scholar, John Michael Gabriel T. Zaragoza, entitled “Establishment and Implementation of the ReCOVER-I Program: Rehabilitation for Recovered COVID-19 Patients through Exercise and Re integration in the Community through Education Awareness Campaign”, the team is currently conducting a capacity-building of the BHWs of Bacolod City.
The Capstone project aimed to address the limitations posed by COVID-19 infection among discharged patients through optimizing independence in activities, minimizing emotional distress, and foster awareness among family members and the community. Relevant to this, one of the intended deliverables is to empower barangay healthcare workers to conduct psychological First Aid.
In partnership with the Bacolod City Health Office, a Training-Workshop on Psychological First Aid for Barangay Healthcare Workers of Bacolod City in the COVID-19 setting was slated for September 7 to 8, 2022, with 60 participants in attendance. The training is facilitated by the Mental Health Unit staff headed by Dr. Euriz Calmerin.
